I dunno. (I also don't know who is and isn't using LJ anymore. D:) I'm friending a few people, anyway, and if you want the name of the new journal, lemme know.

Saw the water and not the waves.

We decided we would get the movie Deep Impact but we, uh, got the wrong movie. As in, porn. We got porn. On accident. FOR ONCE IT WASN'T MY FAULT. Thanks, Ange. <3

Haven't started work yet. I was supposed to go in for orientation today, but there was a screw-up with my training manager's schedule and he had to come in early and couldn't do it which means it's been rescheduled to Tuesday. Bright side: more time to finish the art I owe for people on Gaia. (Yeah, I started playing there again. Shut up.) Down side: I might not be able to make my DBSA group.

Aaaand on that... I started going to a weekly Depression Bipolar Schizoaffective (at least I think that's what the 'S' stands for?) Alliance group. Basically, meet once a week so we have a place to talk about the crazy things that are going on within our coconuts. I actually got some good information and since one place I checked out ended up being full of suck, they have resources for free psychiatrists around Portland. Which means I can still get my meds. Hurrah. :D

I may be switching LJ accounts. Again. I'm tired of the name I have now, so I might start posting stuff over at drownedcities. I was going to use it as an art journal (again. I know right?), but I'm all 'fuck that noise.' If I do switch over, though, I'll probably just stick to posting art and writing there since I use Facebook now more than LJ.

I also drew a crab as a stripper and some Twilight fanart. It is the best fanart ever.

You like your roleplays to be short, sweet, and action-packed: who cares about continuity as long as your characters are always doing something awesome like blowing things up or running from the cops? You're the type of roleplayer least likely to take roleplay seriously and most likely to have your characters pull ridiculous stunts for the hell of it because hey, it's RP! What exactly is stopping you from wrestling that helicopter? Of course, your characters often tend to be flat and if there isn't anything exciting going on, you quickly lose interest entirely. But since your characters' relationships tend to be weak in the first place, you don't leave much of a gap when you leave to go fight bears with your bare hands somewhere else.

Take Roleplayer Test! at HelloQuizzy

Oh, Portland. I love the weather here; it can be so super hot and then the next day it's dark and cloudy again. Why do you do this, you fantastic city, you?

The rose garden is also really pretty right now. Ange and I went the other day and I want to roll through the grass and roses. Yes. Through the roses.

I'm linking from my Facebook, so let me know if they don't show up.
Never gonna give up easy.

There have been SO MANY spiders lately. At least four the past couple of days not counting today and three today. I go into the kitchen and surprise! Tiny spider. I take care of the little bastard and turn around AND THERE'S AN EVEN BIGGER SPIDER ON THE FLOOR JUST MOSEYING ACROSS LIKE IT OWNS THE PLACE. Got rid of that one.

I am sitting at the computer right now and look up and THERE IS A SPIDER DISAPPEARING INTO THE WINDOW. Oh god whyyyyyy.

I usually don't have that big of a problem with spiders but this is ridiculous and I am about ready to put the mosquito net up around the bed and be even more paranoid than my girlfriend about them.

<blink>FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.</blink>

I have also been having dreams that have been so real, I am waking up completely and utterly confused as to where I am and sitting for a few minutes afterwards thinking that what happened was real. It's kind of insane. Only one of the three (that's how many it's been so far) has been a nightmare (which is not fun when it's that ultra real and I don't think a bear has ever scared me so much) and the rest have just been downright bizarre.

I need to post all of the sketches I've done the last few days, too. That's all I've been doing, drawing. I haven't heard back from any of the places I've applied (GUYS FUCKING SUBWAY HASN'T EVEN CALLED ME BACK YET, WTF) and I am about ready to go beat some bitches down. I've opened commissions, anyway, if anyone is interested and wants to pass that information along to their friends or the internet in general. I even opened an account on RedBubble to hopefully make some t-shirt designs, somehow become famous overnight, ???, and profit. You never know.

The cat is on the back of my chair like a furry, demented parrot.

What I'm thinking I may do, if it comes down to it, <strike>is become a hobo</strike> is move to San Francisco and say fuck it and go to the art school there rather than PNCA. They're less picky about who they let enroll and I can enroll at pretty much any semester right now because they're total gaybos. I still really want to go to PNCA, but I am tired of living off of Daria and Angela and all the rest of my friends. I am so sick of it, I cannot even begin to describe.

Old Gregg has another follower on Twitter.

And that is my stream of consciousness stuff for the night. I HAVE NOT WRITTEN IN THIS THING FOR AGES. Like, for real writing in it. Crazy.

I think life has finally stopped exploding. Like I've said probably a million times before, I'm terrible at keeping up with LJ stuff, so if anyone needs me and doesn't have my e-mail: graffiti.moon@gmail.com

Matt -- I still want to hang out. Things are finally quiet here and THAT MEANS PARTAH TIME. The girlfriend and I are disappearing this weekend, but other than some job hunting and maybe a doctor's appointment this week, I should be good to hang out.

Lou -- ...I think I owe you a bunch of wheat free recipes, yeah? D:

Lauren -- ANOTHER OLD GREGG FOLLOWER. THAT MAKES FOUR OTHER PEOPLE. WANT TO GO TO COMIC CON TOO WHY IS THIS THE YEAR I DON'T GO? My eyes would seriously explode in delight at gazing upon the visage of Noel Fielding. Mmmm, Noel Fielding.

Anyway, doing impromptu camping this weekend on the Oregon coast. We have a cat, if I haven't said that already. She is adorable. I have new art that I need to post and more that I need to draw (all mostly Batman related, heh).

I keep forgetting that I have an LJ and that the internet exists. Pretty much at all. Oops.

Um, kinda posting with an important announcement: I'm changing my name. I'd actually like to go by James now. Right now, I'm testing the name out to see how I like it before officially, legally changing it (and if I do, I'm getting a new last name too: Wright; I really do not like my last name, especially in tandem with my drug addicted father who I have not seen since I was two).

I still identify with being female, but more so with being male and I'd like to change my name to reflect that. (I also just don't like my name in general; I'm pretty sure I was actually named after the Simpson's character and just NO). My wardrobe has been undergoing an overhaul as well the past half year where I've been giving up my girly clothes and I've been wearing more men's things. I've drawn the line at the whole changing genitalia thing and growing facial hair, taking hormones, etc. I'm okay with the junk I have and not having to shave my face and all that.

So yeah. Just call me James now and all will be well.

Chris and I ended up going on an epic walk to day (we made it all the way down to the Fred Meyer, then bused into downtown). Ended up walking a lot around downtown before taking the street car to PNCA.

I've been meaning to actually go to PNCA for a while now to take the tour and everything and holy shit was it awesome. First, the two of us weren't sure where we were so we stopped and asked this guy if he knew where the college was. Well. Ended up this guy was THE DEAN OF STUDENTS. That deserves caps. He was so nice and friendly and he walked with us to the school. We missed the tour time at two o'clock, but he set us up with one anyone.

The school is so cool and I'm sold on where I'm applying too. When their form on why you're there includes questions of 'movie candy, best ever, y/n?' and 'if you were a superhero, what superpower would you want?' then you are crazy not to apply.

I'm really tired and wanted to right out more about why this was the best day ever, but I'm just cutting to the part that's making me the happiest right now:

PNCA does study abroad, and lots of it. They have some for semesters, some as a couple weeks trip (the admissions counselor we were talking to was telling us how a bunch of students had just gotten back from Senegal and that every year, they send a bunch of design students to Tokyo so they can work on an anthology of design work). Some of the countries they have for the program include: Spain, Japan, Scotland, Czech Republic, Mexico, Peru, Canada, China, Greece.

<blink>GREECE</blink>

GUYS I AM TOTALLY GETTING INTO THIS SCHOOL SO I CAN STUDY ABROAD IN GREECE. IT IS LIKE EVERY DREAM I HAVE EVER HAD CAN POSSIBLY COME TRUE OH MY GOD.

So excited.

Even more memes.

I was tagged by shinyget for Persephone and I can't fall asleep right now, so...

Persephone:

1. Do you like this character?
Yes! Obviously. Or I never would have played her. Out of all the Greek myths, my favourite is the one of Persephone and Hades.

2.What name/s do you call this character?
Persephone. Seph when I don't feel like typing it all out.

3.What image/color do you associate with this character?
Bright reds and greens. Poppies. Lots of poppies. (If I find the image on my harddrive, I'll upload it, but it's poppies in a field with a shot of the sky that shows up in a lot of icons and it makes me think of her.)

4.What image-song do you associate with this character?
Margot and the Nuclear So and So's | Skeleton Key (though less so than with Kore or the older incarnation)
I'm From Barcelona | We're From Barcelona
The Flaming Lips | Do You Realize??
Sufjan Stevens | All the Trees of the Field Will Clap Their Hands

A bunch of others. Some Eisley, some Decemberists. I actually made a playlist up a while ago and posted it here, but most of it is summer music. Most of my RP characters are associated with summer.

5.What blood-type do you think this character is?
Lol, chlorophyll.

6.Of all of the titles that this character appears in, what character do you like to put this character with?
I ship Hermes/Persephone. Sue me. I am also still a fan of SS Failship, but I have the tendency to be more biased towards RP ships than anything within actual fandom. If, you know, you want to consider my version of Greek mythology fandom.

7.What would you want to say to this character?
"...Yeah, so about that one time. Totally sorry. Don't smite me, 'kay."

8.What do you want to do with this character:
<strike>Hit on</strike> Hang out with nymphs. Be badass. The usual.

I'M ALSO GOING TO MIX IT UP AND CHOOSE PEOPLE TO DO THIS MEME. WHAT NONSENSE IS THIS? OH GOD.

Please choose 5 friends with your choice of character.
deathscytheheck | Ren
shinyget | Flonne
shichahn | Maria
zolac_no_miko | Clara
hyper_metal | Kragok

I am also really tired right now and want to draw a Flonne-Maria-Clara tea party. I think it would be adorable.

To make my journal entries not so meme filled, I sent in my resume and cover letter today. I am praying to every deity out there that I get hired because that would be fabulous and I'm already planning what I want my future apartment to look like.

I am doing the kitchen and bathroom in a dark red and the rest of it in ELECTRIC BLUE. And there will be Alphonse Mucha everywhere. And fish. And weird things because it would not be my living space if it weren't filled with weird things. It will be nice to finally have my own place and live by myself and be able to invite people over whenever I want and let them sleep on my floor and be pimp and this sentence has too many 'and's in it. See my being tired.

Still want that apartment downtown. Still sad I probably won't get it.

I also have Swiss Rolls.

Questions meme. This is what my journal is turning into.

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me!"
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your blog or journal.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of the meme goes on and on and on and on.

From shinyget

1. Where do you get most of the inspiration for your art and stories?

My dreams. I have crazy, vivid dreams with weird worlds, people, things, creatures. It's literally like going to another place when I sleep. I actually get more places than people from my dreams, so chances are that whatever I'm writing/RPing as far as most scenes go, that's where it's from.

As far as characters, music. Vorpal, despite her guitar, was mostly music based (Metric and Aimee Mann and the Decemberists, with a little bit of Sufjan Stevens). I worked more of Kore out listening to Patrick Wolf. It's always in completely nonsensical ways too, like not listening to the lyrics, just the music portion. Others it really is more lyrically based, like T!Ed with Butcher and Liar. They really helped me get more of him out.

Then little pieces from other things I've read/seen.

2. If one of your pieces could come to life, which one would you want it to be?

Uh... I don't really have any pieces, but maybe any of the ones with the tiny, tiny owls. Like, I dunno, the sketch of myself as a badass cowboy with wee owls chilling in my hair (stfu, I was feeling awesome that day). For characters I've drawn, Vorpal. She'd be cool to hang out with.

3. What would your superpower name, ability, and story of origin be?

Ffff. I'm bad with names so I'll skip that, but the ability to create awesome clockwork things with just a thought. Total T!Ed, I know, but I was living vicariously through him when I was doing that. My story of origin was that I was probably exposed to radiation as a small child or hit in the face with a meteor. They are classics and work for anything.

4. What country would you prefer our dream farm/ranch to be set up in and why?

Scotland because it's GORGEOUS. Barring that, midwest US somewhere, where most of the farms are.

5. If you could only change one thing in the world, what would it be?

That there's more to it than there is now. I want crazy magic, adventures, the walking dead, monsters of the week, the threat of an apocalypse every month and last minute world saving, for gods and goddesses and weird mythological creatures and beings to be real. If I could impose my world on this one, I would.

From shichahn

1. Of all the places you've lived in over the past couple years, which was your favorite? And forget for a second about the people there, just which place did you like best?

Chicago. Most of the first experience was crap, but I am such a complete city girl. I want to go back badly.

2. What would your ideal RP be like?

Like the one I had made, only where it actually worked, as far as setting and what can be played goes. That and something like the good old days of omg!fma, where I can go for years with a character I enjoy (OC or a fandom one), meet cool people and still see them long after the game is over, and just have a good time.

3. Would you rather go the rest of your life without seeing Jensen Ackles' face, or shave off all your hair?

I would rather go the rest of my life without seeing Jensen Ackles' face than shave off all of my hair. My hair is prettier than him.

4. What did you want to be when you grew up when you were around the age of 10?

I wanted to be veterinarian. Mandy and I would have co-owned a ranch together and raised horses and all sorts of other animals. I also would have had a studio where I could do any sort of art that I wanted. Minus the being a vet thing, I still don't think any of this sounds like a bad idea.

5. What is your favorite personal Wasteland adventure?

The time where I teleported to the Deathclaw Sanctuary and was faced with three Deathclaws in front of me and an Enclave soldier at my back. It made me feel so hardcore. I've also just enjoyed most of the ones you and I have sat through doing, even if it was just wandering around. Laughing at the monsters is always fun.
</lj>

I'm not promising to do this meme because I'm bad at thinking of questions. And if I do do it, don't expect them to not be cracked out because they probably will be.

Tentacle face!

Posting to prove that yes -- I am still alive. When you live around the people that read your LJ the most and you don't do anything a lot of the time, it doesn't really give you much reason to post.

I think really the only big thing was having my tooth removed. I had a massive infection that was heading into my gums so I got down to one of the low income dental clinics and they ripped it (literally, with a big, metal stick) out of my head. This was also when I learned that I am allergic to penicillin and spent most of the morning being intimate with a trashcan as I had the most painful puking experience of my entire life. I don't ever want to do that again.

There was also a couple of other things that pretty much made last week one of the shittiest ever, but I really don't feel like going into it (lol, copout).

I think I've sort of decided what I'm doing for school, finally. Maybe. It'll change tomorrow. I'm thinking of just doing classes at one of the community colleges and building my portfolio, and then for the other stuff I want to do, find people that are willing to take on apprentices or something. I dunno, it sounds like a lot more fun and I'm having trouble getting into the full school mindset again. (OH GOD I DON'T WANT TO SIT THROUGH THE HELL THAT IS MATH EVER AGAIN, NEVER EVER.)

I'm also pretty sure I've found a temporary job, even if it's not with this company, that I'd be good at. Adult store. I am serious. All of those years of porn writing having actually come in handy. I still don't recommend googling gay sex, just by the way.

And last thing, I actually have my very own shiny writing journal, pewpewlazrz. There's nothing there other than the shorts I did way back in November (which I'm debating posting on fictionalstuff, but they're also kind of... old and I don't care to change them right now and I dunno, erk) and then some concept stuff that's posted privately to myself. A lot of the rough drafts will probably be posted as friends-locked or just sent to people for opinions, but if you want to keep up with updates, feel free to friend it and I'll add you back. I'm actually working on stuff now.

More memes! I, uh, still need to fill out the other one, but I kinda got bored halfway through doing that. Oops.

Comment to this post and I will give you about 5 subjects/things I associate you with.
Enter the sun marching like a matador.

I have discovered Played Bys. The world is over.

I've been trying to avoid them for so long because I was all, "I'm an artist! I can draw my icons! This is crap." BUT PBS ARE SO MUCH EASIER and I'm kinda enjoying surfing through all of these icons and debating who looks closest to my characters. It's actually kind of sad, in a way. (I am actually just so thrilled that I finally found someone that sorta looks like Persephone, I cannot even explain.)

And sorry guys -- I haven't been checking my flist lately and I know I've been spamming you guys recently. Life. I fail at it.

Awesome things we saw yesterday when I went downtown for my appointment (I was going to mention these earlier, but I forgot):

Three teenagers that looked almost exactly like the Jonas Brothers. That was... odd.
FLAME SCOOTER. It was red and painted with flames. Screw getting a car, I want that.
Little old lady with the best afro in the world. Seriously. It was the best afro I've ever seen on anyone.

Pride and Prejudice and ZOMBIES

THERE IS ONLY ONE THING IN THIS WORLD TO MAKE MY LIFE COMPLETE AND IT IS THIS BOOK:

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

"Pride and Prejudice and Zombies -- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies features the original text of Jane Austen's beloved novel with all-new scenes of bone-crunching zombie action. As our story opens, a mysterious plague has fallen upon the quiet English village of Meryton—and the dead are returning to life! Feisty heroine Elizabeth Bennet is determined to wipe out the zombie menace, but she's soon distracted by the arrival of the haughty and arrogant Mr. Darcy. What ensues is a delightful comedy of manners with plenty of civilized sparring between the two young lovers—and even more violent sparring on the blood-soaked battlefield as Elizabeth wages war against hordes of flesh-eating undead. Complete with 20 illustrations in the style of C. E. Brock (the original illustrator of Pride and Prejudice), this insanely funny expanded edition will introduce Jane Austen's classic novel to new legions of fans."

DO WANT. WANT SO BAD.

What of freedom can I say?

I gave in tonight and re-made T!Ed (my main problem was finding him a good journal name and, well... it clicked).

pursue_the_bone

Oh god I am so excited about this, I don't know why.

Before I toss him into a game (I've got to wait for a certain someone to get off their ass anyway, you know who I'm looking at >:|), if anyone wants to bounce off a heart eating, psychotic murderer? YES PLEASE.

I missed my baby so much. ♥

deathscytheheck is a ho and tagged me for a meme. Which is actually okay because I'm tired, pleasantly out of it, and bored. Hurrah!

Write twenty-five facts about yourself, tag twenty-five people. ONLY I'M NOT TAGGING ANYONE AHAHHAHA. Whoever wants to do this, go for it.

[1] When I'm by myself, I like to listen to music and rock out. I can rock out to pretty much anything (lol, Sufjan Stevens).
[2] I hate hate hate using numbers when I'm typing things out -- I always have to spell them out.
[3] I think the word 'gray' looks silly so I use 'grey' instead. 'Ax' also looks better with an 'e' at the end. It's an aesthetic thing.
[4] Jensen Ackles is one of the only men I would go straight for. Robert Downey Jr is a close second.
[5] Horror movies are one of my loves, especially of the zombie variety. I don't care how awful it is, I will probably enjoy it.
[6] One of my ambitions in life is to figure out how to build a giant, clockwork labyrinth. I would then fill it with nonsensical Latin phrases, like my grocery list and bad emo poetry.
[7] Music is weird for me and I use it to define the seasons, sometimes the time of day and places. Metric is for autumn, since it reminds me of the leaves falling and walking through sepia streets and the colours. Stars and Eisley are for the winter, especially the cold nights and the way a person's breath frosts up the air. The Decemberists are definitely spring and remind me of the feeling of being alive, watching new plants/flowers grow and open, and Gorillaz, OK Go, Poe, and a bunch of others remind me of Summer with all of its adventures and traveling.
[8] I have the tendency to ramble a lot.
[9] Fallout 3 is probably my favourite game to date. I enjoy being the wanderer of the Wastes and pretending to be an utter badass, with my ten stimpaks, half health points, and sawed off shotgun.
[10] On that, I have recently garnered the desire of dressing up in a foofy dress (the kind with a poofy skirt good for twirling in) and fighting zombies. Because that would just be so beyond cool.
[11] My definition of cool is questionable.
[12] I have incredibly vivid dreams. Sometimes they run on each night, where I dream about one thing and continue it the next. I can see, hear, smell, and touch. I can even control them a good part of the time and shape what the world will be. I've met people and been to places in dreams years ago and have gone back years later, only to run into them again, but they're older and the places will have actually changed with time. It's bizarre, but I love it.
[13] Next to drawing, RPing is probably the biggest hobby that I have.
[14] My idols include: Alphonse Mucha, Mark Z Danielewski, China Mieville, Jamie Hewlett, and Gerard Way. I also just realized I don't have any female idols. Huh.
[15] If it wouldn't kill me, I'd like to be: a tattoo artist, children's book illustrator, writer, comics artist, and art teacher, all in one. I'm probably going to try anyway.
[16] I have only ever dated two people and am engaged to the second. Couldn't be happier.
[17] I hate reality most of the time and would really like to substitute it for my own.
[18] Most of my endeavours have the tendency to fail miserably.
[19] My sense of humour is terribly skewed.
[20] Stars makes me want to learn French, Belanova makes me want to learn Spanish.
[21] I can never tell what people think of me, especially over the internet -- if they want me to just die in flames or think I'm okay to talk to.
[22] When I was a kid, I always wanted to be a Sailor Scout.
[23] If I could, I would just wander away and keep walking without ever stopping.
[24] I use textures in my art because I can't shade for crap.
[25] I often have existential crises.
